Desde hace siete años el nombre de Black Panther ha ido creciendo para consolidarse como una de las piezas fundamentales dentro de la escena Skinhead/Reggae de la Ciudad de México y la razón es su atinada selección de Skinhead Reggae y Rocksteady que ha sonado en casi la totalidad de las citas ineludibles para los amantes de la música jamaicana en esta ciudad, ya sea participando a lado de reconocidos pinchadiscos internacionales como Tommy Rock-a-Shacka o Tiny T, ya sea amenizando pequeñas sesiones Mods con su impecable selección y característico buen humor.

Como uno de los DJ’s principales del Chewing Gum Weekend, nuestro amigo Black Panther nos ha prometido, al menos, algunos de estos…

For seven years the name of Black Panther has grown to establish itself as one of the cornerstones in the scene Mexico City Skinhead / Reggae and the reason is his selection of Skinhead Reggae and Rocksteady killers has sounded in nearly all the unmissable dates for fans of Jamaican music in this city, either acting alongside international DJ known as Tommy Rock-a-Shacka or Tiny T, either djing at small Mod sessions with his impeccable selection and characteristic jokes .

CGW Bands: The Hide Times (Rhythm & Blues, Cd. de Mexico)

 

The Hide Times es, como muchas otras historias, una que empieza al final de una noche de fiesta. Tipico, un grupo de amigos que pensaron sería bueno brindar una brizna de aire fresco a la escena y después de un primer intento se reincorporaron, tomaron aire y buscaron aliados para continuar. Esa es la historia de Erick, Daniel, Cros, Lala y Enrique que acompañados de un montón de viejas canciones y un órgano compacto deciden aportar un poco de si a esa cosa llamada R&B simplemente para pasarlo bien y pensando que, tal vez, de paso, aquellos sonidos que tanto disfrutan perduren por siempre.

La noche del viernes 27 de Julio serán los encargados de abrir el Chewing Gum Weekend 2012 y tanto ellos como nosotros estamos nerviosos ya que esta será su primera aparición no solo dentro de la escena Mod capitalina, también será su primer actuación en público.

The Hide Times, like many other stories, begins at the end of a night party. Typical, a group of friends who thought it would be great provide a breath of fresh air to the scene and after a first attempt they gathered again, took air and looking for allies to continue. That's the story of Eric, Daniel, Cros, Lala and Enrique that along of lots of old songs and compact organ decided to bring some for this thing called R&B just to have fun.

On Friday night of July 27th they will be responsible for opening the Chewing Gum Weekend 2012 and obviously they like us are nervous because this will be their first appearance not only in the Mexico City Mod Scene will also be his first public performance.

CGW DJ's: Joerg "Puresoulie" Brenner (Munich, Alemania)

Joerg "Puresoulie" Brenner ha estado activo en la escena Mod y Northern Soul europea por más de 25 años como DJ, promotor, al frente de su tienda de discos y como editor de fanzines Mod y Soul. Ha hecho girar sus discos en cantidad de allnighters de Northern Soul y Mod Weekenders por toda Europa, incluyendo importantes citas para los acólitos de la música negra como Cleethorpes y Prestatyn (Reino Unido), Rimini y Vicenza (Italia), Barcelona y Valencia (España), Viena (Austria); así como E.U. visitando ciudades como Seattle, Pittsburgh y Detroit. CGW DJ's: Roberto Vega (El Clan Mod & Soul Club, Mexico)

Melómano de tiempo completo, pone discos eventual y baterista. En algún tiempo fue DJ residente del extinto Fuzz On Club y desde hace unos ayeres uno más de El Clan. Roberto Vega es parte fundamental de las noches de El Clan desde sus inicios hace poco mas de 3 años haciendo bailar al personal con descargas de la mejor música del mundo: Rhythm & Blues, ya sea en vivo a cargo de la batería de the Bridge House o haciendo girar rodajas de plástico negro en las tornamesas del Club. Su set se integra de toneladas de R&B, Soul y grandes clásicos de Ska, asi que habrá que estar preparados pues para la noche del viernes nos ha prometido algunos temas como:

CGW DJ's: Dano Okeh a.k.a. Mr. Cream (Mexico)

¡Hola! Mi nombre es Daniel mejor conocido en el bajo mundo Mod como Dano Okeh o Mr.Cream; soy Mod desde principios del 2004, amante del Soul, la música jamaicana, el R&B y el Jazz; ademas de un fiel seguidor del Club de Fútbol América. Soy miembro del Clan (Mod & Soul Appreciation Society) y actualmente preparo un proyecto llamado The Black Keys pero bueno, mas adelante lo conocerán. He participado en las fiestas de El Clan y en diferentes eventos de música Jamaicana y durante mi set podran disfrutar de un poco de R&B, Soul en todas sus variantes y una chispa de Ska. Esta es la segunda edición que pinchare en el Chewing Gum Weekend y entre otras cosas intentaré hacerlos bailar con temas como:

Hi! My name is Daniel but in the Mod underworld I'm known as Mr.Cream or Dano Okeh. I'm Mod from early 2004, a Soul lover, and a big fanatic of Jamaican music, R&B and Jazz. Also I'm a big supporter of Futbol Club America. I'm a member of El Clan (Mod & Soul Appreciation Society) and now preparing a new project The Black Keys but you'll hear more about it later.
